Licensed Addiction Counselor
Dr. Daugharty is a board certified anesthesiologist and licensed addiction counselor with a passion for working with those who struggle with addiction and trauma. She loves facilitating group as well as working with individuals in helping people to understand some of the driving forces behind addiction. She understands that connection is an essential component of the effective counseling relationship for developing the confidence to change and the trust required to navigate challenging emotions. Her background in medicine and counseling synergize uniquely to accompany clients on a journey towards rediscovering meaning, purpose, and joy.
Dr. Daugharty is well versed in depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. She brings expertise in a relational or psychodynamic approach and EMDR specifically as applied to substance use disorders. She also has an in-depth understanding of the impacts of substance use on the central nervous system and has a facility for helping clients to understand.
Dr. Daugharty attended Albany Medical College, trained at Virginia Mason, and more recently completed her master’s in counseling at Hodges University. She interned at the Stout Street Foundation’s 28-day residential treatment program before joining the Magnolia team. In addition to her career, she enjoys cooking, gardening, poetry, and martial arts.
